July 8 – August 16

The Actors' Playhouse at Miracle Theatre ends its 2008 – 2009 season with a hilarious look at married life. Married Alive is a funny and poignant new musical that celebrates the trials and tribulations of two contemporary married couples, one newlywed and one oldywed. Performances will take place Wednesdays through Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $40 - $48. July 11

Want to create Eco-friendly Art Work? Learn about the environment and create a fun craft with local artist Edwin Villasmil at the Coral Gables branch of the Miami-Dade Public Library System. Children meet at the auditorium of the library, 3443 Segovia Street, at 11 a.m. for this arts and crafts event. For more information, call the Coral Gables branch library at 305-442-8706.

July 11 – 12

Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden will hold its 17th annual Mango Festival with the celebration focusing on the Mangos of Fairchild. Just in time for the mango harvest, the Festival takes place from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mango lovers will be in heaven as they taste smoothies, partake in tree sales, auctions and the wonderful display of more than 200 mangos from Fairchild nurseries. Children will enjoy the day with programming that includes a mango puppet show, mango theater, cooking demonstrations and a spectacular mango brunch on Sunday. Fairchild is located at 10901 Old Cutler Road. Admission is $20 for adults, $15 for seniors, $10 for children 6-17. There is a long and exciting list of activities planning for both days. July 13

The Coral Gables branch of the Miami-Dade Public Library system is making it easy and cost effective to stay in touch with family and friends around the world. An instructor will be teaching participants Basic Email Functions. There will also be instruction given on how to set up a free email account. The class takes place at 3:30 p.m. at the auditorium of the library, 3443 Segovia Street. For more information, call the Coral Gables branch library at 305-442-8706.

July 16

Coral Gables Congregational Church continues its Summer Concert Series with classical guitarist Sharon Isbin. The Grammy Award winner has been hailed as “the pre-eminent guitarist of our time.” Isbin will be performing at the Summer Concert Series held at the Coral Gables Congregational Church, 3010 De Soto Boulevard, at 8 p.m. Tickets range from $25 – $40. Through August 1

Take your children on a cultural outing. The Actors’ Playhouse at Miracle Theatre is now showing Stuart Little for the enjoyment of young audiences. The story is based on the book by E. B. White. The Saturday performances at 2 p.m. are a great way to the beat the heat and spend a fun afternoon. Admission costs $15. Miracle Theatre is located at 280 Miracle Mile.
